| 説明 | 瀬戸真中古茶入 銘「玉川」 小堀宗実箱書 本作は、室町末から桃山時代にかけて焼成されたと考えられる 瀬戸真中古茶入です。 真中古は肩張りで胴がふくらみ、堂々とした姿を特徴とし、 古来より名物茶入の類型として珍重されてきました。 銘「玉川」は、『新古今和歌集』に収められた 藤原俊成（1114–1204）の一首に由来します。 駒とめて なほ水かはむ 山吹の 花の露添う 井出の玉川 馬を止めてなお水を飲ませよう、山吹の花の露がそそぐ井出の玉川で――。 清らかな流れと山吹の花の情景を重ねた優美な歌にちなみ、この茶入は「玉川」と名付けられました。 外箱には遠州流十三世家元・小堀宗実による箱書が添えられ、銘の由来を典拠に基づき明記した由緒ある一品です。 複数の仕覆が添えられており、歴代の伝来の厚みを感じさせます。 Seto “Manakogo” Tea Caddy – “Tamagawa” with box inscription by Kobori Sojitsu XIII This Seto Manakogo tea caddy, dating from the late Muromachi to Momoyama period, exemplifies the dignified form of Manakogo jars—broad-shouldered and full-bodied—long admired as one of the classical styles of Seto tea caddies. Its poetic name Tamagawa derives from a waka poem by Fujiwara no Shunzei (1114–1204), included in the Shin Kokin Wakashū: “Stopping my horse, again I let it drink the water— where yamabuki blossoms scatter their dewdrops into the Tamagawa of Ide.” The image of a clear stream adorned with mountain blossoms imbues this tea caddy with refined elegance. The outer box bears an inscription by Kobori Sojitsu XIII, head of the Enshu school, authenticating the piece and clearly noting the poem as the source of its name. Together with its accompanying brocade bags, it stands as a tea utensil of distinguished provenance. |
